Deep;

but not deep enough.

Plastic bag over the head?

Breath betrayed the plan.

Middle of a frozen lake?

I prayed the ice would give;

it didn’t.

Rope around the neck?

I guess the rope also wasn’t strong enough.

Train tracks?

The train came;

but to a stop.

Pills?

I slept it off.

Substance abuse?

Ran out of money;

not reasons.

Wire and a branch?

The branch gave out forcing me to stay.
